About the author

Glen Gillen, EdD, OTR, FAOTA is currently a full Professor at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons within the Programs of Occupational Therapy. He has authored over 120 publications including textbooks, chapters, and peer-reviewed research. Glen is best known in the neurorehabilitation community for his contribution to the literature, the textbook Stroke Rehabilitation: A Function-Based Approach now in its fifth edition and published by Elsevier Science/Mosby. His next book, Cognitive and Perceptual Rehabilitation: Optimizing Function has been published by Elsevier as well. He has served as co or lead editor on the last three editions of Willard and Spackman’s Occupational Therapy. Glen’s experience spans the continuum of care from acute to long term care. A past recipient of AOTF’s Award for Clinical Excellence in Rehabilitation and AOTA’s Recognition of Achievement Award. Glen was awarded the Slagle lectureship in 2013. Glen lectures extensively on the local, state, national, and university level regarding multiple topics related to neurorehabilitation
